Allison Rupprecht
Q: Where are you from?
A: I was born outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but lived most of my life in Columbia, South Carolina.
Q: What is your year/major? Have you studied anywhere besides Clemson?
A: I’m a senior majoring in psychology. I also have two minors, one in art & the other in human resource management.
Q: How long have you been making art? What do you love most about creating art?
A: I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember & discovered my passion for ceramics in high school. My time at Clemson has given me the opportunity to really improve as a ceramic artist. I love the freedom I have as an artist to create anything I want and the opportunity for silent self-expression.
Q: What themes do you pursue as an artist? How would you describe your design aesthetic/style?
A: I tend to get caught up in the details of my work. Recently I have been exploring organic, curvy functional forms with surface carving & juicy glazes.
Q: What do you like about your work? In general and for the selected piece.
A: I like the attention to detail and repetition on the surfaces of my work. I like the interaction between the glaze and the carved surface on this season’s share piece.
Q: What are you most excited about for this CSA season? What do you hope to gain by joining us as a share artist?
A: I am most excited to see everyone’s (both artists & team members) hard work pay off at the CSA pick-up event. I also excited to meet & talk to share holders about my work. I hope to improve my skills as a ceramic artist.
Q: What are some other art related internships, demonstrations, gallery showings, or publications you have been involved with?
A: This is my third season as a CSArt share artist. I also worked as a Creative Inquiry intern last summer for the Community Supported Art program.
