Marilyn Baughan
BFA, Clemson University, 2020 Q: What year are you at Clemson and what is your dream job after you graduate? A: I am a senior and my dream job is to run my own studio where I can make and display my work. Q:How would you describe your design aesthetic/ style? A: I would describe my style as minimalist with geometric and natural design elements. Q: What do you love most about being an artist? A: I love being able to create work that people can interact with and having the freedom to create without worrying about perfection. Q: What are your inspirations? In general and for the selected piece. A: I am inspired by patterns in nature and geometry. I am also inspired by the interaction between nature and man made objects in everyday life. Q: What piece of work or project are you most proud of and why? A: I am most proud of my teapots because they are a culmination of all of the skills I have acquired on the wheel. I feel like I can really see my progress when I look at a finished teapot. Q: What are you most excited about for this CSA season? A: I am most excited about getting to be a CSArt team member and a share artist at the same time. I am looking forward to working together with new people and experiencing the program from both perspectives. Q: What are some other art related internships, demonstrations, gallery showings, or publications you have been involved with? In addition to being a member of the CSArt team, I am also a member of the Clemson Ceramics Association. See some of Marilyn's previous work below! |
