Q:How would you describe your design aesthetic/ style?
A: I would describe my design aesthetic to be heavily influenced by water and the organic shapes/motifs. I am also naturally drawn to layering and enjoy experimenting with different mediums.
Q:What do you love most about ceramics?
A: My focus is in printing. I have taken beginning ceramics, but I did enjoy the different firing process and glazes.
Q:What are your inspirations? in general and for the selected piece.
A:My inspiration for this piece was definitely botanical and how to crate a dynamic piece from the repeated motif of nature. n general I am drawn to black and white photography that has dramatic lighting/value shifts and the layering of different mediums with this.
Q:How long have you been making ceramics or other art in general?
A:I've always loved art/creating, but I didn't start studying it seriously until I was accepted at the Fire Arts my junior year of high school.
Q:What are you most excited about for this CSA season?
A:I'm excited to interact with the art community in and around Clemson!
Q:What are some other art related internships, demonstrations, gallery showings, or publications you have been involved with?
A:I have had a two internships; Art Therapy in Tanzania Africa during the Summer of 2016 and Lily Pottery in Greenville, South Carolina during the Summer of 2015. I have been published in the Chronicle Magazine here at Clemson in the Fall of 2016 and Spring of 2015. I've taken par in five gallery showings; Connections Art Exhibition, Clemson SC 2016, Reflections Art Exhibition, Clemson SC 2015, Upstate Forever Exhibition and Auction, Greenville SC 2014, Converse Young Women in Art Exhibition, Converse College, Spartanburg SC 2013, An Artistic Discovery, Congressional Art Exhibition, Columbia SC 2013.
