"I got my crate from the very nice young ladies who were manning the ceramics sales. The pottery was wonderful!
While we loved our fall pieces, we thought this batch was exceptional, so creative and unique."

"I am so excited about this opportunity! As a student, I attended a fundraiser for the Ceramics students that included buying a piece of pottery and filling it with soup or salad. It is still one of my favorite things and has stuck with me through 10+ moves."

Faculty and Student Testimonials
"This initiative was designed to provide students with an entrepreneurial learning opportunity – many of our graduates go on to work for institutions, non-profits, galleries and more, and the real-world marketing and administration skills they acquire through participating in CSArt program gives them tangible experience to enhance their studio-based portfolio upon graduation. For those students who create the limited edition ceramic works for the share, the commission is a vote of confidence in the developing quality of their artwork, and a challenge to meet our enthusiastic shareholder’s expectations at our seasonal pickup event."
- Valerie Zimany, Art Department Chair & CSArt Faculty Leader
"I learned about managing multiple tasks simultaneously and the work needed to operate a successful community support art program. Personally, I feel that I will take my experience with me into all of my future professional endeavors and continue to refer back to my time as a team member and juried artist in Clemson Community Supported Art."
- Ella Wesly, BFA ’16 (Ceramics)
"CSArt has been a really great experience for me. It has given me the chance to learn more about the art world and how the business or sales side of it would work. I had the opportunity to work with others who share the same passions as I do and I learned a lot about how to efficiently get a job like this done in a very short amount of time. I imagine this is a skill I will need to know in order to market myself, my art or my future business. I feel I am more equipped to use social media in a professional setting because I have had the opportunity to learn through CSArt.
I have loved the opportunity to work together with other artists to get this project done. I feel CSArt is a great class to take because it has helped me learn more about what it takes to actually sell art, create an event, and market a product well enough to make a profit. This experience is something I think every artist should have because it helps to teach you about the art world as a whole, rather than just the creating art aspect. All in all, I really enjoyed CSArt this season and I hope to learn more from it in the future."
- Casey Bunda, BFA ’17 (Ceramics)
“CSArt has been a valuable experience for me each semester I have been a participant. Working with others, communicating as a team and relying on each other prepares us for any career, and doing so around art helps particularly for the career paths team members have chosen as art majors. CSArt is an amazing opportunity for artists and team members a like to grow their skill-sets. Each semester I come back for more for exactly that reason. It has been a lot of fun and a good challenge."
- Johnny Murphy, BFA ’16 (Ceramics)
"This was my third season as a share artist. As always, I enjoyed the experience. This program is an incredible opportunity for student-artists to not only improve technically but also gain experience in how to market and sell their work. As a CSAart artist, I really enjoyed being able to talk about my work with shareholders at the pick-up event and to hear their feedback. All the shareholders I spoke with were so excited about the art in their share crates and wanted to learn more about the work. I also feel that being a CSart team member has given me the opportunity to grow as a professional. I’m always able to use experiences I’ve gained through CSArt in interviews as examples of my professional skills. I’ve continued to be a CSArt team member for multiple semesters because I enjoy helping bring local, student art to the Clemson community. I feel proud to say I’m part of the program."
- Allison Rupprecht, BS / Art Minor ’16
"CSART provides me with the opportunity to learn about how to sell art, how communities and universities can come together to create something great, and gain valuable skills I can apply later in my own career as an artist. It is a good experience every time, and each year I learn more from CSART, so I keep coming back."
- Fall 2015 CSArt Team Member
"Being a share artist was an amazing experience. I really learned how to problem-solve and I enjoyed watching other share-artists’ work develop from their first prototype to a 25-series and how all six share pieces interacted as a collection."
