Valerie Zimany, Faculty Team Leader
Currently the Chair of the Department of Art and Associate Professor of Art, Ceramics, at Clemson University, Professor Zimany received her BFA from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA. After completing her MFA studies at Kanazawa College of Art as a Fulbright Fellow and Japanese Government Scholar, she spent three years on a city-sponsored residency at the Utatsuyama Craft Workshop in Kanazawa, Japan. Professor Zimany was awarded a second Fulbright grant by the U.S. Department of Education for her proposal Porcelain Fever: Contemporary Kutani Practitioners and Processes, and returned to Kanazawa as a guest researcher at the Institute of Art and Design, Kanazawa College of Art in Summer and Fall 2011.

Daniel is a full-time Lecturer in the Art Department at Clemson University. He has called the Upstate of South Carolina home since 2010. Daniel was born and raised in Lancaster, PA; he earned his MFA in Ceramic Art from Alfred University in Alfred, NY, and BFA in Crafts/Ceramics from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. He has been a practicing ceramic artist for more than 20 years. His professional experience includes being a resident artist internationally and nationally in acclaimed artists programs in China, Japan, Canada, and the United States.

Samantha Taylor
Samantha is a Visual Arts major from Greenville, South Carolina with a concentration in ceramics. In her own work she draws inspiration from organic forms and the human figure. Samantha also has a social science minor and has been taking Brand Communications and business classes on the side. After graduation she hopes to continue making ceramic work and explore the possibilities of a career in art therapy, specifically as it relates to the criminal justice and rehabilitation systems.

Marilyn is a Visual Arts major with a concentration in ceramics. She is from Greenville, South Carolina, and enjoys traveling in her free time. She draws inspiration from geometric forms and patterns in nature. This is her second semester with CSArt, where she helps facilitate the relationship between the artists and the customer!

She aspires to one day open a coffee shop containing collaborative art studios to help supply free art supplies and spaces to local communities. Kaitlyn’s favorite medium is sculpture, and she hopes to continue creating pieces in the future that encourage conversation on topics involving traumatic experience and their ties to intrinsic growth. Katie is a senior Mathematics major with a minor in visual arts. She is from Taylors, South Carolina. While focusing on ceramics or printmaking, Katie also likes woodburning, painting, and drawing. She finds inspiration from nature and geography, specifically the deserts in southern California and certain rocks. When she is not creating artwork, she enjoys attending concerts, traveling, and playing board games. After she graduates, Katie hopes to attend graduate school for ceramics. She is responsible for sales for CSArt and is also a share artist.

Allison is a senior Psychology major minoring in Visual Arts from Columbia, South Carolina. She has been a featured artist for the past two semesters for both her slip cast and wheel thrown work. Brittany Wilund, Web & Design
Brittany is a senior from Lexington, SC. She is studying fine arts with a concentration in ceramics and drawing and a minor in anthropology. In her functional ceramic work she creates gestural wheel thrown and altered forms with a specific focus on textures interacting with glazes to reference organic surfaces. Brittany is also beginning to investigate and create ceramic slabs that blur the lines between drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramic work. Her work in both ceramics and drawing is expressionistic and has an emphasis on gesture and movement.

Johnny is from Novato, California and is a junior this year, majoring in fine arts. He enjoys figurative and functional ceramics, and feels that there is something very special about creating things out of earth. Johnny is studying clay with hopes of becoming a ceramics teacher.

Hannah spends most of her time on the CSArt team creating design work and keeping the website up-to-date. She also serves as President of the Clemson Ceramics Association, a student organization that hosts seasonal ceramic sales on campus.

Lindsey is currently an MFA student studying ceramics at Clemson. She is from Charleston, SC, but has lived across the southeast, most recently moving from Atlanta to Clemson. After two seasons of being a selected artist for CSArt, Lindsey now serves as our graduate assistant, helping run our program smoothly!

Molly is originally from Ohio, but was raised in Pennsylvania. She is graduated from Clemson in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in art, concentrating in ceramics. During her time on the CSArt team, she worked on planning our inaugural CSArt pickup event, as well as being an artist for the Fall 2014 share. She hopes to one day practice art therapy or open a coffee shop.

Stephanie is from Bogota, Colombia and has been in the states for three years. She's a third year student in architecture and is minoring in Spanish. During her time on the CSArt team, Stephanie worked on the Design Team and was the first to create our CSArt stickers!

Matt Pizzuti (Spring 2015)
Matt graduated from Clemson in the Spring of 2015 with a BS in Marketing and a minor in art. During his time on the CSArt team, Matt created a timeline for all of our marketing duties so that we met all our promotional needs!

Hallie Shafer (Spring 2014 - Fall 2014)
Hallie is from College Station, Texas. She graduated from Clemson in the Spring of 2015 with a BFA in ceramics. She served as an artist in the Fall 2014 share, as well as working on the Design Team, where she created our original CSArt logo! Hallie loves to travel, having spent time in New Zealand, Australia, and Italy.
Hallie is from College Station, Texas. She graduated from Clemson in the Spring of 2015 with a BFA in ceramics. She served as an artist in the Fall 2014 share, as well as working on the Design Team, where she created our original CSArt logo! Hallie loves to travel, having spent time in New Zealand, Australia, and Italy.

Brent is graduated in the 2014 with a MFA in Ceramics at Clemson University, after receiving his BFA from Winthrop University. Seeking to create a connection between object and user, he utilizes installations of functional forms as catalysts for joyful experience. Rebecca is from Augusta, GA and graduated from Clemson in Spring 2015 with a BFA in ceramics. Her interests range from human anatomy to architecture, which inspire the aesthetics that can often be seen in her work.
