Q: How do I become a shareholder?
A: Spring 2019 shares for will be available for purchase February 15th. Once available, they can be purchased on our online store under the "Purchase a Share" tab.
Q: How many shares are available?
A: There are a total of 15 shares available for purchase.
Q: When is the deadline for purchasing shares?
A: There is no purchase deadline. We will continue to offer shares until the limited quantity have been sold. Shares are expected to sell fast, so purchase early before they sell out!
Q: Will I be able to contact the artists whose work is included in my share?
A: Yes! The purpose of Clemson CSArt is to connect our student artists with the community. One benefit for shareholders is the opportunity to meet artists at the Pick-up Event.
Q: Can I choose the contents/artists of my share?
A: No, but you can have confidence that each CSArt artist has been carefully selected and each of the works will be of high quality. Also the artists information and examples of past work will be available on our website to look through before you purchase.
Q: When will I find out what the artwork in my share looks like? Will the work I receive look like the work shown on the CSA website?
A: Part of the fun is the mystery! Much like Community Supported Agriculture where you purchase a farm share and don’t know exactly what is going to come in your produce box until you receive it, the contents of CSArt shares will be a surprise to shareholders until their exclusive share pick-up event.
The images of each artists’ work shown on the CSArt website represent the style and quality of their work, but do not necessarily depict the work they’ve produced for their share.
Q: Are CSArt artists creating new work for their season? Is the work exclusive?
A: Yes. Each artist is producing work specifically for and exclusive to Clemson CSArt. The artwork being offered through CSArt is not available anywhere else.
Q: What types of items will be in the crate?
A: Each season brings a new variety and style of artwork. In the past, there have been functional ceramic works, small sculptures, and various printed media. Functional ware is of high quality and usable for daily purpose. Two dimensional works will generally be mounted and ready to frame.
Q: What if I get something I don’t like in my share?
A: The Clemson CSArt team has made every effort to assure quality artwork. Student artists are carefully selected by a respected juror in the arts community. There may be times when you aren’t that fond of a work. Please remember that the concept of CSArt is to support local artists and your creative community.
Q: Can I give a share as a gift?
A: Yes. You can purchase a share, retrieve it at the season’s exclusive pick-up event, then give the share package as a gift, or CSArt can provide you with a gift certificate for the lucky recipient, which will provide instructions on how to redeem their gifted share.
Q: Can collectors split shares?
A: Yes, but don’t be surprised if you find it difficult to decide who gets what piece!

A: Shareholders can retrieve their share packages at their season’s exclusive Pick-up Event. These events are open to shareholders and their guests. The season’s artists will be in attendance. All shareholders will be notified of the date/time/location of their season’s pick-up event after purchasing their share.
If you are local, but unable to attend your season’s pick-up event, CSArt will coordinate a way for you to receive your share package following the event.
Q: What if I don’t live in the Clemson area and want to buy a share?
A: We will gladly ship share packages to shareholders living outside of the Clemson area. Please email us and we will send you an additional shipping quote.
