Clemson CSArt & COVID-19

Hello Clemson CSArt Family,

Despite an uncertain time quite a few things remain true, and one of them is that Clemson’s Visual Arts department is doing everything in its power to keep students and the community creative - from encouraging the sharing of home studio artwork  over social media to keeping consistent communication in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected our friends around the world.

We are also affirming our commitment to both our share artists and our shareholders here at CSArt. Although our campus classes have shifted to distance learning, our team continues to meet remotely via teleconference and work toward keeping creativity in our artists’ hands and in our community.

However, with this unprecedented crisis we are very aware that you may have questions. The CSArt team is seeking to identify a solution to help our artists continue their production for our shares. Currently we are in discussion with our leadership regarding limited studio access due to building closures on campus, in contact with our artists to check their progress with their creations, and meeting with our CSArt team weekly to discuss our options. Please rest assured that our priority is to ensure our Clemson student artists' health, and we will keep you posted with timely updates.

With the uncertain duration of our current situation, the CSArt team is looking at all possibilities to continue our Spring share program. As per the University’s statement, all campus activities until May 8th are postponed or cancelled in their entirety. We will be monitoring the situation to determine the best possible option for the delivery of our shares. We plan to update you again soon!

The COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything any of us have seen before - a phrase you probably have already read and heard in numerous places. Please know the CSArt team is doing all we can to remain committed to our student artists and our arts community!
