Share Artist Snap Shot: Ella Wesly

​Ella is in her senior year of the Bachelor's of Fine Arts program. Her focus is in ceramics and she enjoys working on the potter's wheel. Ella is first generation Polish and Dominican descent and this mix of cultural backgrounds creates a jumping ground for her work. As an artist that focuses on both functional and sculptural ceramic work, the themes that Ella explores deal with history and ancestry. By incorporating patterns and textures from both cultures, Ella is able to blend these two background in a way that is contemporary and fresh. For her CSArt share piece, Ella explores a combination of colors and textures by layering applications of wax and glaze. Ella has been involved with CSArt from the start and this is her debut as a share artist.
